We are, who we are

But how
Can two people
That is so alike
Be so different?

How
can we see
Exactly the same thing
But experience it
So differently?

Why
Does what I say
Mean something
totally different to you
Than what I meant
When I said it?

NB. This is a translation of the previous post. I personally think that the Norwegian version of the poem is better.

Vi er, de vi er

Men hvordan
Kan to mennesker
Som er så like
Være så forskjellige?

Hvordan
Kan vi se
akkurat det samme
men oppleve det
så forskjellig?

Hvorfor
Betyr det jeg sier
Noe helt annet for deg
Enn det jeg mente
Da jeg sa det?

Father

I watched your birth
Said: "That's my child!"
Was wery proud
I nearly cried

I watched your steps
From high above
I watched you laugh
I watched you grow

I heard you shout:
"I love you, dad!"
"I love you too!"
I always said

When you were scared
You prayed a prayer
I sent myangles
To fight the fear

But as a dad
I did much more
Than you could see
And understad

When you cried:"Why?
It's all your fault!"
You were too proud
To let me solve

I often did
It anyway
You were my kid
And that's OK

My love for you
It was so strong
Although you blame
Me for what's wrong

As years went by
You shut me out
"I am too old"
You used to shout

"Too old for what?"
I just replied
"I'm not a church
I am your dad!

I'm no religion
No dead belief
No Sunday school
No book with rules!"

You turned your back
And walked away
You thought that I
Would do the same

You've got no clue
What real love is!
I thought you knew
That love forgives

So here I stand
And here I wait
With open arms
It's not too late

Of course it hurts
When someone goes
My heart's in pain,
Like no one knows

And when I see
Your life's a hell
I want to help
Please let me tell:

In me there's joy
You will find peace
In me there's life
Im on my knees

My child come back
Come back to dad
The one who gave
You breath and life

Poem by Amber Rieman

This is a beautiful poem written by Amber Rieman.
The waves of the ocean clap over my skin
I'm here in the silence with my faithful friend
The sky paints a picture of the true love to find
I look at my Father as He looks through my mind
He knows me so well there is nothing to hide
Together we stand just watching the tide
Hours together, remembering the pain
He shows me the scars of the true love I gained
"All this for me?" I asked as I cry
"I did this for you, I wanted to die
But arise once again I did for you too
So today I could stand all alone here with you"
Tears began to stream down my face
As he opened his jacket an pulled out a vase
"What's this" I asked. Trying to see
Thats when He said He saved this for me
A bottle, a vase, full of his tears and mine
Cried over the years
"Here is my promise, remember it well
I'll never leave you, by your side I will stay
Allways until the moment we meet
On that faithful day"
